KIRK MARSH, co-founder
Kirk has spent the last 8 years as a serial entrepreneur in the online industry with a focus on the advertising, marketing and technical development sectors. Starting out as a CTO of an early lead generation company, Kirk shifted focus to the growing media sector. Since then he has worked as a consultant to various technology companies, and has worked with publishers, ad networks and advertising agencies.
Kirk co-founded Walk Light Media with a goal of creating a business model that moves beyond the traditional focus on profits to a model that includes social responsibility and sustainability at its core.
DAVID LOZOVSKY, co-founder
David has nearly 20 years of sales experience, starting with him working after school for one of America’s largest brokerage houses, and moving on to building and managing sales teams over the arc of his career. In 2002 David entered the digital media space working with one of the earliest advertising networks to quickly learn the industry and the various technologies involved. He then moved on and up through the ranks of several premium advertising and technology companies in the space, and by 2006 was GM of a mid-sized ad network. He continued to evolve his understanding of the space, specializing in various display technologies like contextual and behavioral, and working with a myriad of adserving and exchange platforms. He has helped such brands as Toshiba, Dell, Alienware, Vonage, Pitney Bowes, as well as many other Brand and DR advertisers.
He co-founded Walk Light Media to catalyze his personal aspirations of a better cleaner planet for his children Isabella and Mishka, while creating a brand safe environment for advertisers to reach a highly influential audience of conscientious consumers.
When not working he can be found biking with his children in tow, skating at the local skate park and training for his new found passion of triathlon.
DOUG WEAVER, Advisory Board
Those in the online marketing world know Doug Weaver through many different venues. He’s the author of The Drift, a provocative blog read by more than 6,000 top industry executives; a frequent moderator, host and speaker at iMedia Summit and Ad:tech events; and through both public and private sales workshops he’s trained thousands of interactive salespeople at more than 400 leading companies, including Yahoo!, USA TODAY, CBS Digital Media, The Wall Street Journal, NBC Universal,National Public Radio, ESPN, About.com and The New York Times.
After a 15‐year career in print advertising sales with companies like Hearst and Condé Nast, Doug became the advertising director for Wired Magazine in 1994 and sold some of the Web’s first ads on the company’s Hot Wired site. He then served as Vice President of sales for Firefly Network, a pioneering company in personalization, targeting and community. He founded Upstream Group in 1997.
Doug was elected to the Board of Directors for the Interactive Advertising Bureau and managed the development of both the IAB Road Show (the organization’s main presentation to marketers) and the IAB Professional Development Series. He has spoken on internet advertising issues to CIMA (the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association), the Direct Marketing Association, the Magazine Publishers of America, the Advertising Research Foundation, the Advertising Club of Toronto and
other leading organizations on three continents
In 1999, Doug received the first IAB Service Award for commitment and contribution to the industry, and in 2008 he received the “Old Timer’s” ASPY Award from the Aspen Group, a coalition of digital agency leaders. In 2011 he received the Ad:tech Industry Achievement Award for his career‐long contribution to the growth and development of the interactive marketing business. Doug lives and works in Vermont, in sight of historic Lake Champlain and the beautiful Green Mountains, with his wife, Sharon Richards, and daughters Lucy and Madeline.
PAUL NEEDHAM, Advisory Board
Paul is co-founder and President of Simpa Networks (simpanetworks.com) which is introducing pay-as-you-go pricing for high value solar home systems in developing markets. Simpa’s bold mission is to provide clean, safe, and sustainable energy services to customers at the base of the economic pyramid.
Paul is an InfoTech entrepreneur having started and led several companies. He has had two successful exits with sales to strategic buyers. Paul has over 12 years of senior leadership experience, most recently at Microsoft where he led the development of a channel partner strategy for Microsoft’s global online advertising business.
Paul is also on the board of directors of CAMFED USA (Campaign for Female Education), a not-for-profit organization that tackles poverty and HIV/AIDS by investing in the education of girls in Africa. CAMFED improves the lives of nearly half a million young people by making long term commitments to communities, schools and individuals.
